Rodney Anthony Cork was born and raised in Indianapolis. He is the oldest son of Robert and Eloise Cork. As a young child, Rodney attended the Pilgrim Baptist Church. There he accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior and was baptized at the age of nine.
Rodney graduated with honors from Warren Central High School. While in high school Rodney developed his speaking and writing gifts by being very active on the speech and debate team. He was also the Sports Editor for the student newspaper as well as Sports Director and play-by-play announcer for the student radio station. Rodney continued his education by attending Purdue University where he majored in communications. He further developed his communication gifts by working on the staff of the student newspaper, The Exponent. Rodney was awarded the prestigious National Association of Black Journalists student award and worked as an intern for the Indianapolis Star newspaper. He later obtained a bachelor’s degree in Religious Studies from Martin University.
In 1993 Rodney rededicated his life to Christ and began attending the Eastern Star Church. In 2000 Rodney accepted his calling into the ministry and became a part of Eastern Star Church’s Ministers In Training program.
In 2004, Rodney had the opportunity to be a part of Eastern Star’s second church plant. He, along with several other members, helped to launch the New Beginnings Fellowship Church under the leadership of Dr. James Anthony Jackson. Rodney served as full-time minister and Ministry Administrator. He was also a teacher of the weekly New Member’s Classes. Rodney has developed and taught courses in Spiritual Gifts, the book of Romans and Old Testament as a part of the church’s Christian Living Courses.
In January of 2016 Rodney and his wife Suzanne founded Unity In Christ Family Worship Center to serve the city of Indianapolis. Rodney and Suzanne have been married for over 25 years and are the proud parents of one son, Randall Cork. The enjoy traveling and spending time with their grandchildren.
